We are living in an era of digitalization. Technology is everywhere. We are in a generation where technology defines our quality of life. When we talk about the quality of life we cannot skip the concept of learning through education as it increases vision and outlook to see the world. In the past few years we have seen an evolutionary change in learning methods through digital innovation.

Digital learning can be categorizing any form of pedagogy delivered through digital technology such as video, audio, visual graphics text animations etc. by using the medium of wide range of software, applications and other online platforms.

The boon of digital learning can be understanding through the “Cone of Experience” or “Learning Pyramid” model developed by Edger Dale, an American educator in 1946. This model explicate that we can remember only 10% of what we read and 20% what we here; but it increases 50% when we see and hear at the same time. Even it can increase up to 70% to 90% if we analyse, define, and evaluate through active participation, simulation, collaborative lessons in the learning process. Digital learning can actually involve all these learning activities smoothly and effortlessly through wide range of digital learning methods.

17 world development goals known as Sustainable Development Goals created by the United Nations in 2015 initiate quality education (SDG 4) and in order to achieve that UNESCO supports its member states to design, integrate, and implement effective national policies and master plan on digital learning. Recently UNESCO has announced ‘The Digital Learning Week’ on 2nd to 6th September’24 by focusing on public digital learning platforms and generating AI to reinforce and enrich humanistic education.

When world experiencing more frequent crisis from all aspects, it has become a social necessity to ensure digitalization in learning process as a basic human right. COVID 19 pandemic taught us that digital learning should be considered as our future education system as we all know that technology is undoubtedly a powerful tool to gather teacher and students from every corner of the globe at a place at the same time.
